High-Voltage Work Requires Task-Specific PPE
High-voltage and arc-flash hazards can expose personnel to thermal energy, burns, sparks, molten material, flying debris and electrical contact hazards. PPE is the final protective layer and must be selected as part of a wider risk-control system.
PPE does not eliminate electrical risk, make live work safe, or replace isolation, lockout, trained personnel or a task-specific risk assessment. It must be used together with controlled work procedures and manufacturer instructions.
Where It's Used
Final suitability depends on the task, incident energy, voltage exposure, site procedure and manufacturer instructions.
